Last weekend we were set up at the Fond du lac, WI dog show. It’s a wonderful small town show that we, along with my dad of McCartney & Company, love to set up at every year. The show was over Easter weekend this year (my dad and I celebrated the weekend with Mexcellent food every night!) and the dog show wasn’t as active as it has been in the past. But! There’s a major bright side to that. I got to meet Brooklyn! I saw her walking by and immediately I thought “I just have to get her into my studio!” I’m sure you’ve all had that thought go through your head at some point, right ;)
There’s something exciting, as an artist, about the work you do for yourself. I’m so glad Brooklyn’s owners agreed to take some time out of their day (I bribed them with a free print from the session) to let me have some fun! Don’t get me wrong, I have fun with every dog session that comes our way. But when a dog with a smooth coat, floppy ears, and color that matches my dark smokey background walks by … I get excited!
I hope you enjoy these photos of Brooklyn half as much as I did while making them!

The image below is my favorite! After taking it at the show, I worked it up, texted it to my wife (and uber amzing photog partner … check out this spread she created and photographed last week!), Kelsy, and her reply… “What a kaboose!”
